Topic #1: Global Warming

Why did you chose this topic?
I chose global warming because it's a big issue now. Global Warming is being caused by our selfish and lazy actions. If we don't fix that, then our earth will burn up and we'll become extinct along with all the animals.
10 Facts:
-Lots of people believe it's the biggest problem we've ever taken on
-Air pollutants from fossil fuels make clouds reflect more of the sun’s rays back into space
-Global dimming is caused when less heat and energy reaches the earth.
-People believe that global dimming caused the droughts in Ethiopia in the 1970s and 80s where millions of people died because the northern hemisphere oceans weren't warm enough to allow rain formation
-Global dimming is the power that creates global warming
-People want to help get rid of global warming but the first thing they had to do, which was hard, has been trying to get an agreement on a framework.
-In 1988 the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) was created by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the World Meterological Organization (WMO) to be able to search the science of global warming.
-The U.S., some other countries and many large corporations didn't want to sign climate change treaties because they feared that it would hurt the economy and profits if they had to make big changes
-When people were asked to believe in climate justice it was ignored by lots of rich nations and their ordinary news media which made it easy to blame China, India and other developing countries for failing in reducing climate change
-Martin Khor, a developement expert, said that the rich countries owe a carbon debt because they've already used more than their fair emissions
Can you see this as your exit project?
I guess I see this as my exit project. it's an interesting topic and something that has a lot of info because it has to do with science and I like science. So maybe I can make a good argument because there's so many scientific facts.
What questions do you have?
I understand the fears of economic issues, but why didn't people just work with it? They need to get their lazy butts up and do something. A guy actually working hard to decrease the global warming problems is much better than a rich, lazy guy donating some money.
What percent of people still just think it's the cycle of the world?
